-About the band-

AN CAFE (??????-???-), is a Japanese band formed in 2003 and signed to the independent label LOOP ASH. The band is composed of four members, all of whom are male and from the Kant? region of Japan.
On official sources the band name has been written in many different ways. The most consistent has been "??????-???-" (antikku -kohiten-), which appears on all releases and on the official website.

The band’s original official website had the name written as "?????????" (antikku Café). Yet the COSMOS single (released in 2004) had the name written as "ANTIC CAFE" (with "??????-???-" written underneath).

However, all releases since then have had the name written as "AN CAFE" (but still with "??????-???-" written underneath). Due to the amount of material released containing this version of the name it seems as though this is now the preferred choice of the band.

There is often confusion amongst non-Japanese fans on how to pronounce the name of the band with popular choices being ‘Antique Café’, ‘Antic Café’ and ‘An Café’. Technically, none of these are wrong, although the band themselves have never used ‘Antique Café’.

The style of the band lies deeply within the Visual Kei movement with guitar solos and gruff shouting, which is typical of most contemporary Visual Kei bands on independent labels.

However, their upbeat and happy sound means that they can easily be placed within the Oshare Kei movement (a sub-genre of Visual Kei which emerged in recent years and has seen a rapid growth). As with most other Oshare Kei bands, the members of AN CAFE incorporate street fashion and bright colors into their image.

An Cafe recently received two new members, original guitarist Bou being replaced by Takuya and Yuuki joining on keyboard.
